Attribution of Copyrights

Copyrights to the content of Ai Times Japan (hereinafter referred to as “this site”), including articles, photographs, illustrations, and other text and images, belong to Ai Times Japan and the content providers. Ai Times Japan also holds the editorial copyright for the Site as a whole.

All copyrights (including the rights stipulated in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Law) that may arise in connection with posted data, regardless of its copyrightability, are shared by the contributor and Ai Times Japan. Ai Times Japan also reserves the right to use the submitted data for any purpose without limitation.

Copyright Restrictions

Articles, photographs, and other materials posted on this site are protected by copyright laws. Copyrights are protected by the Berne Convention and other applicable laws of each country in which they are received, as well as Japan, where they are transmitted to the world via the main server.

Use of articles, photographs, etc. posted on this site without the permission of the copyright holder is limited to reproduction and quotation for personal use. However, even when use is permitted, changes or deletions contrary to the intent of the copyright holder are not allowed. In addition, summarizing an article in a form that gives an overview of the article also generally requires the permission of the copyright holder.

What are Copyrights?

The Copyright Act lists the following rights of authors

  • Translation/adaptation right: The right to translate, arrange, adapt, film or otherwise adapt a work.

In addition, the original author is considered to have the same type of rights as the author of the derivative work with respect to the use of the derivative work, and permission from the original author is required to use the derivative work as well.

Reproduction, translation, adaptation, public transmission, publication, sale, lending, modification, etc. without the permission of the copyright holder is prohibited. Under the Copyright Act, infringement of the copyright owner’s rights may result in penalties such as imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 3 million yen.
